Final Fantasy. Probably the most well-known RPG franchise in the world (besides Pokémon), Square Enix (formerly Square) has been churning out Final Fantasy titles for over 35 years. Beloved by millions, the franchise is still proving popular today on multiple different consoles.
With its humble beginnings on the NES, to us, it's always felt like a Nintendo series. Even if the late '90s would say otherwise. We've had a Best Final Fantasy Games list for some time here, but we've only ever included the mainline entries in the series. Now, we want to shake things up a bit — and it's up to you to influence the order.
Why are we changing things up now, you ask? Well, you might be aware that one of the best games in the series — Final Fantasy VI on the Super NES — is about to celebrate its 30th anniversary on 2nd April. So what better way to celebrate than by squabbling (nicely!) over your favourites?
There are a couple of things worth noting before you jump in, however. First up, Japanese-only releases aren't included. That means the NES releases of Final Fantasy II and III, for example, are excluded from the poll. However, we've included every single version of a game that was released on Nintendo systems in the West. That means that you can vote for Final Fantasy III on the DS and the Pixel Remaster on Switch, for example.
Final Fantasy Adventure is excluded from the poll, as this was actually the first game in the Mana series and not a Final Fantasy game. The same goes for Collection of SaGa, which is a compilation of the three Final Fantasy Legend games. Again, these aren't Final Fantasy titles, (they're SaGa games) and were only renamed in the West to improve marketing. Got all that? Phew...
Just like other reader-ranked polls, we're asking you, the lovely readers, to rate every single Final Fantasy game you've played from the list below. That could be a numbered title, a rhythm game — heck, even the Chocobo games are... game, here.
Registered Nintendo Life users can click on the stars below and rate the games out of 10. The resulting ranking (which we'll publish in due course) is created from those fluid NL User Ratings and is therefore subject to change, even after publication. If you've previously rated these games in our database, thank you! If not, you can add your score to the game at any time, present or future, and it will still count and potentially influence the order.
So, without further ado, get that ATB bar filled up and get voting.
Rate each Final Fantasy game you've played:
Click the stars below to rate each Final Fantasy you've played out of 10:
Thanks for rating your favourites and give us a shout if you think anything is missing.
We'll be revealing the results very soon, but remember: much like our platform Top 50s, the list will be fluid, so even if you miss out on voting before the results are revealed, you can still influence the ranking after publication.

Sorry everyone, it's XIV 😔
Final Fantasy and I go decently far back for me never reeeally having played the main games. My cream of the crop on Nintendo consoles would be (in no particular order):
FFIV
Theatrythm (esp. Final Bar Line)
Crystal Chronicles (the first, on GameCube, in co-op)
FFXII
The FFIII DS CGI opening
FFVII's first few hours (Midgar->Golden Saucer)
Tactics Advance
And I'm sure VI, if I'd played it.
The first game that really made me take notice of the series was FF VII so i guess that'd be my favorite. Back in the day i was about to turn 19 and my mom wanted to get me a new game system for my birthday. It was either N64 or Playstation. I chose N64 so i could play Ocarina of time but some friends of mine where arguing that Playstation was better because games were on discs and it had FF VII. Plus they said Nintendo was for little kids. LOL you know that old stereotype. 😉
Anyway i stood by my decision to go with N64 but i later ended up getting a Playstation Anyway. I definitely saw something there that made it special and i couldn't deny how popular FF VII was. That was the year i stopped being known as the Nintendo kid. My eyes were finally opened to new experiences!
IX is definitely the best, but not this port. The original version on Playstation is the absolute best. In fact, the only port that improves upon the original is XII Zodiac Age.
Pixel Remasters are serviceable, but not the ideal way to play them with such an awful font (the retro is even worse) and that bright color palette.
Just ranking those I've played from start to finish.
IV > VI > XIII > XII > VII >>> Tactics > I > Crisis Core > Mystic Quest
My top 5 would be:
1. FFIX
2. OG FFVII
3. FFVI
4. FFX
5. FFXII
Xenogears and Octopath 2
Nintendo up to SNES: VI/III.
Everything else: VII.
1. Final Fantasy VI Pixel Remaster
2. Final Fantasy VI GBA
3. Final Fantasy III (SNES)
4. My Life As King
Off subject looking at the below, Nintendo really in uncharted territory. Based on USA dates.
Even the Wii was only 5 years 11 months.
NES - October 18, 1985
SNES - August 23, 1991 (5 years, 10 months, 5 days since NES)
Nintendo 64 - September 29, 1996 (5 years, 1 month, 6 days since SNES)
GameCube - November 18, 2001 (5 years, 1 month, 20 days since Nintendo 64)
Wii - November 19, 2006 (5 years, 1 day since GameCube)
Wii U - November 18, 2012 (5 years, 11 months, 30 days since Wii)
Nintendo Switch: March 3, 2017 (4 years, 3 months, 13 days since Wii U)
Nintendo Switch 2: Expected Q1 2025 (~8 Years)
The PS1 games were the best. X was decent. Then the series heart decided to leave its body and go pump life to other games. The series changed from essential to mediocre.
Xenoblade is the new Final Fantasy.
Its 100 percent ff13
Here’s my list:
1. Tonberries
2. Final Fantasy VI
3. Final Fantasy VII
4. Final Fantasy IV
5. Final Fantasy
6. Final Fantasy V
-I don’t like the games below this point—
7. Final Fantasy VIII
8. Final Fantasy IX (8 and 9 are really close because they both have stuff i like, but i’m putting 8 above 9, because 9 has Zidane)
9. Final Fantasy X
10. Final Fantasy XIII
11. Final Fantasy II
——————————————————————
Spinoffs: Mystic Quest(ugh), Theatrythym (played all 3, love all 3) , Explorers (good), World of FF(okay.. i might like it more if i hadn’t forced myself to 100% it in order to unlock that super cute credits video), Chocobo GP (excellent Kart racer destroyed by a moronic business model)
Final Fantasy VI will always be the best in my opinion.
IV, VII and IX are pretty phenomenal too.
The SNES and PS1 (IV-TAY) are my favorites. I really feel the series took a downturn then…ranging from poor to good from them on. 16 was fun, so hopefully things will start improving again.
It's VI. But I have a lot of love for many titles in the FF series, mainline and spinoff.
Very controversial ranking coming up
Never Completed:
9. I
8. II
7. XII
6. IX
Completed:
5. IV
4. Crystal Chronicles: the Crystal Bearers
3. VII Remake
2. XVI
1. X
Currently playing VII Rebirth & enjoying it a lot.
It’s Final Fantasy VI, though I love FFVII as well.
Remake and Rebirth are so good… Shame they didnae make it to Nintendo platforms, eh?
Out of the games that I've currently played:
1. VII Rebirth
2. VII Remake Intergrade
3. Crisis Core (Reunion)
4. VI Advance
5. Theatrhythm Final Bar Line (if only they'll ever put the DLC on sale)
6. Chocobo GP
7. VII
8. Dissidia 012
I wish you would allow games from non-Nintendo platforms to participate though... Not necessarily mobile games, but at least other spinoffs.
IX will always remain as one of my top favourite games. Such a grand game that was.
Meanwhile for VII, it's probably because I experienced it much too late (like, on the Switch), but I never lifted on with the hype for that one. It's absolutely a great game, but not as great as the internet would have one believe.
Then again people probably would also say that for Ocarina of Time and I would say it's one of the best. Depends on who you ask I suppose!
VI and XIII were my favorites but I prefer DQ to FF so there is that. Still waiting on XIII series to get ported to switch.
I despise Final Fantasy series but Final Fantasy VI was ok in my book.
out of the classics its FFV, FFVII and FFIX.
out of the modern ones i enjoyed Rebirth and FFXIV the most.
I do have a special place for crystal chronicles though its really unfortunate how the remaster took away a big part of what made it special (the ability to team up with friends and go on an adventure together, instead the remaster is just online match ups for dungeons)
@Yosher
I just find it unfortunate that the modern versions of FFVII are based on the PC release rather than the original psone version, they have these high-res character models walking around the psone resolution backdrops causing a major clash in visual style which was MUCH less noticable on the psone version (there were also a bunch of other minor differences, iirc in some places the wrong music would play, including during a major scene on disc 2, also some other minor visual quirks)
The same thing applies to VIII and IX on switch etc when it comes to backgrounds but VII i felt got it the worst.
@Cia
Okay let's not act like plenty of Xeno fans don't think the same way about Xenoblade Chronicles.
The Theatrythm games are easily my favourites in the series. Unpopular opinion but the mainline FF games are pretty mediocre as far as JRPGs go IMO.
@Mgalens I did play it back then on the PS1 as well so yeah I'm aware of that. I just didn't finish it back then (like, I think I played up to when Cloud fell into the church). Only when it came onto the Switch was I like, okay, I'll finish this game this time and see what the hype is really all about.
I'll be honest though, it being based on the PC release never really bothered me personally. I had a good time with it regardless.
chocobo racing for ps1 is the best square game ever.
I am actually almost done playing through the entire mainline series! The only ones I have left to play are V and XVI.
Here is my personal ranking so far:
IX > VII > VIII > I > IV > X > VI > XIII > XV > II > III > XIV > XII > XI
I didn't realize how many versions of these older games I hadn't tried.
No surprises where my vote goes!
My favorites always jump around between 5, 6, and 9. I usually go with 5 though, since I love all of the different jobs you can choose between. That, and it's got Gilgamesh at his best.
My brain says that 5 is the best but my heart says 4 is the best, I donno why but FF4 is just one of those games that I feel a special affinity towards.
VIII is my favorite. I would call myself a Final Fantasy fan, but seeing this list makes me realize how little I've actually played from the series.
There are just so many Final Fantasy games.
@Yosher
yeah I think for me its mainly that i have a strong affinity for those pre-rendered backdrops of that era (and also likely because im on the spectrum) so i usually tend do dig out the PSP/vita when playing it but for many the newer version is more than fine, and is nice to have available on newer systems (would love to see the psone games get their own "remaster" series with updated backdrops and whatnot but thats just a pipe dream thing)
on the subject of playing it on psp i think it was mainly when replaying it when it hit psn a good few years ago that i started to really enjoy it more since as a kid i was too new to rpgs to understand some of the stuff regarding materia (mainly played platform games until then) and also i found the game oddly scary back then.
i did miss out on a lot of the earlier ones when younger due to a mixture of not having a snes (had a mega drive) and them not making it to europe back then but did enjoy them when replaying them with FFV ending up my fave of the 2d games (also got to play chrono trigger when it hit the wii Virtual console and loved the hell out of it)
....i guess this ended up a bit of a ramble from me.
VI is my favourite. Probably followed by IV. Other than that I like most of them for generally different reasons. It's hard to compare. I just kinda rated them all the same.
I'm here to rep some love for FF X. Game changed how I view video games entirely. Still a top 5 fav game of all time for me.
I do love Final Fantasy but I'll admit I've only played a handful of them. Of the ones I've played, I'd say my top 5 list is...
5. IX
4. IV
3. X
2. VIII
1. VII; the OG, the remakes aren't finished yet and they're far too recent to judge fairly against the original.
It's 6 no question about it. Every FF game after that is a complete joke.
@BodkinDQ The lack of love for FFX on here is disturbing. I am pretty bias however considering FFX is my all time favourites game a D I really hope the remake rumours are true.
After X it would have to be V and then IV.
X followed by IX imo.
@Tasuki IX and X are master class
@Tasuki
@OldGamer999 yes totally unrelated comment you made. But I honestly agree and haven't bought any game for Switch since TOTK; having only finished older games in my backlog since then and moved into PS5 completely. The new system needs to be announced yesterday
Tactics, VI, and IX are my faves.
My favorite will always be FFVI. But it's the very first one that I go back to most. Something so satisfying about starting a quest with a different set of 4 (3 white mages and a thief, for example)
@SpeedRunRocks
Xenogears, OG FFVII & Suikoden 2, thank you, period.
@Diowine
Seems a bit overdue now, I mean they could get some really good third party’s games like RDR2 running great on Switch 2.
My PS5 was used a lot the first two years and some last year but this year and with Sony studios not releasing until April 2025 then my main reason for a PS5 Sony Studios big AAA campaign games seems be going short for me.
I like FF6 the most, followed up by FF1 and FF9. Then all the rest get mixed up together in a big group haha. Except FF13... that one is the worst.
This is my franchise of shame. So many holes in my completed list to plug still.
I'd say number 10 is my favorite and was also my first Final Fantasy game and got me into the series, my top 5 would be.
1, FF10
2, FF7 ReBirth
3, FF12
4, FF16
5, FF13
@Purgatorium I can play through vi just for the sound. It's all so gorgeous...damnit I need to play through vi now.
As a huge music nerd, special mention must go to the Four Heroes of Light OST. This. Even if you don't play the game, give this a listen.
https://youtu.be/yNUbNGRUG3s?si=iXjvHlO3mqXRizV1
Such a shame that Tactics isn’t on the Switch in any form.
I really wish SE would remaster FF Explorers with online multiplayer. Just another good game, wasting away on the 3DS.
But FF XII is my favourite FF game, with the Tactics games closely following, loved The War of the Lions on PSP, though I still need to play a few more of them, planning on finishing VI and jumping into IX.
Don't Bravely Default and Kingdom Hearts count as spin-offs?
People have debated this all the time, but I once heard from someone that I follow on DeviantArt that the best Final Fantasy game is the first one you ever played.
Me looking for FF VI on SNES and not finding it... whoops
6 by far.
4, 7, 8, 9, 16, and Tactics are also very good.
5 sucks, 11 is garbage, 13 is wtf, and 14 is overrated.
The rest are just okay.
In my 30s now, I seem to enjoy FFV the most. The gameplay is fun, job system especially. Then IX, mostly for the characters. My current list would be 5, 9, 6, 3, 4 Heroes of Light
We need to give Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon some love. It's legit one of my favorite Switch games.
I have limited experience with the Final Fantasy series beyond FFXIV of which I've probably put more hours into than any game ever. blushes (it's funny playing it before the rest, because FFXIV is chalk full of references to other FF games that just felt like brand new original content to me lol)
My first experience was FFX on the PS2. I didn't get too far into it, only to this "plant" boss very early in the game. I couldn't beat it. That was that. Then, many years later, I got FFVII when it came out on Switch. I got somewhat into it, but got to this boss I couldn't beat. I think that boss is covered by Rebirth that was just released, so I look forward to getting that when it comes out on PC! I played FFVII Remake shortly after it came out and really liked it. It emotionally wrecked me in parts, too! I know many probably disagree, but I really enjoyed the expansion of content there. Later that year I got into FFXIV, the rest is history.
I had to suspend my FFXIV subscription as I am moving and just don't have money for too many subscriptions. So I decided to get some of the other FF's on the Steam sale - FFXII Zodiac Age, FFXIII (part 1) and FFXV. I hope to enjoy them! (I'm playing FFXII first, and got it first because people talked it up more than the others).
I've played and beat FF I-VII, FF IV:TAY, FF:CC, FF:CC:TCB. I dabbled with FF:CC:RoF. As for the rest of the mainline games (VIII, IX, X, X-2, XII and uh... XV Pocket? Meh...), they are all TBD as I already struggle for free time AND against other modern RPGs.
My favorite FF's of all time are FF IV and FF VI though. It was a magical time playing these back on SNES. What a ride.
I mean, as someone who's played since the original NES release, normally it's a mix up between V, IX, XII, and XV, since we typically go by mainstream titles.
But if we're including side games, Dissidia 012 is still one of my favorite fighting games of all time. Something about how atmospheric it is, and how fun the chase and aerial combat sequences are. Plus how tightly integrated each of its, in hindsight, esoteric reward systems are. Just getting daily Mognet mail made my day.
Tactics Advance because it innovated so much on the original. Sure the Judge system is a hit or miss, but at least you have the Jagds if you need a break from it. I still need to play A2.
Lightning Returns. I didn't enjoy the rest of XIII (not for lack of trying,) but I thought LR was a genuinely fun sidegame that tried to do something different, and I appreciate it for that.
Lastly, World of Final Fantasy because it's a nice cozy game, great for when I need a break, and the writing genuinely made me laugh.
I've never played XIV because I'm not huge into MMOs, doubly so those with a monthly subscription fee. Same with why I've never played XI. Guild Wars, and then Guild Wars 2 later, more than meet my need to play an MMO.
Also honorable mention for Bravely Default, since it's FF's Job System under another series, and I love any game with the Job system.
@LikelySatan Reading your comment kicked off a wild turn of events for me.
Curious about the Heroes of Light soundtrack, i decided to play through those tracks in Final Bar Line with a more attentive ear.
Couldn’t find the case i keep that one in.. A couple of weeks ago i was out of town and had taken that case with me and so then i realised i hadn’t seen it since.
I called the place i had stayed and they said they would check for it and call me back. Queue me desperately tearing my apartment to pieces in a mad search for the last couple hours until they just called me back a few minutes ago saying they had it. I don’t know why it took so long. They said they would ship it and i told them not to and that i’ll drive the 5 hours tomorrow if the roads permit to retrieve it.
Case contains MH rise, Sunbreak, Smash Ultimate, Minecraft, all the Switch Pokemons , Capcom Fighting Collection, Theatrythym FBL, Resident Evil Triple Pack, RE Revelations Collection, and Bioshock collection.
I want to thank you for inadvertently bringing my missing game case to my attention!
1) FF6
2) FF7
3) FF9
4) FF4
5) FF8
6) FF10
7) FF12
8) FF3
9) FF5
10) FF1
11) FF2
I don't count the online games. Put them in there wherever you want.
Do I really need to say, just check the avatar!😉
I think every main entry up to and including 10 is solid. I did also enjoy 12, as the world feels lived-in and dynamic, but the plot ultimately fails to deliver on what it promises. Still, I’ve replayed it a few times just to enjoy that version of Ivalice.
@AeonicB
I also thought Tactics Advance was good! It felt alive, despite just having a map for an overworld. Another great version of Ivalice!
1. FFVII
2. FFVI
3. FFXVI
4. FFVII Rebirth
5. FFX
6. FFVII Remake
7. FFIX
8. FFVII Crisis Core Reunion
9. FFX-2
10. FFXV
Out of the ones I've played I definitely enjoyed all of them expect X-2 (gameplay is fun at times but the story is horrible) and XV (Characters kinda suck, story is pretty bad, combat is garbage and the open world is really boring). I'm also a newer fan as I started with VII Remake a few years ago before playing the OG after so I haven't played a lot of the games. I also feel like ranking XVI this high is a hot take but I will stand by it.
1- FFVII
2- FFIX
3- FFX
4- FFIV
5- FFVIII
6- FFVI
7- FF Crisis Core
8- FF Crystal Bearers
9- FFIII
10- FFXV (terrible game)
Those are the ones I played. I still have to get FFXII though...
@Kiz3000 Amen! FF X was special to me with the innovative and extremely fun CTB combat, the graphics were far ahead of their time, and the first time FF ever got fully voice acted. Not to mention one my favorite, just gorgeous OST and a gut wrenchingly powerful story. Once the focal points of my backlog are finished I'd like to play and beat it for the like the millionth time all over again. Magical game.
Definitely VI for me.
I also thoroughly enjoyed XII on my old PS2, though never got to finish it.
I've enjoyed so many RPG's but could never get into Final Fantasy despite trying multiple ones.
Until... Final Fantasy III (VI). About 20 years after its release too. It hooked me and I couldn't quit until I'd unlocked everything and seen the story through.
Now is in my personal pantheon with Lufia II, Earthbound, Dragon Quest III, etc.
@Diogmites dude, I'm so glad that it was found! That would've been a serious blow.
Wooh for me it’s…
1. Final Fantasy IV DS
2. Final Fantasy VII Remaster
3. Final Fantasy IX Remaster
4. Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
5. Final Fantasy V Pixel Remaster (not that version itself but the strength of FFV’s main game carries it)
It’s not on the list but my absolute favorite title in the series is the original Final Fantasy Tactics on PS1 with a fan patch to give it the PSP translation.
@BodkinDQ
I like FFX, but man Tidus sucks as a main character in my opinion. It’s like they were going for Bartz again but made him not funny.
@LikelySatan Yeah, i was pretty devastated for a little while!
Thank you again!
@Ryu_Niiyama Wow, I thought I was the only one who liked those two equally. Most of the time they wind up on the opposite end of people's scales, but VI and XIII have been my best times with FF. Both awesome games.
@calbeau
Main thing I remember about XII on PS2 was that insane optional hunt boss that had 1.25 million HP to eat through.
@Harmonie
You’ve got to play IV. IV sort of set the standard for how modern Final Fantasies tend to function. I recommend the original JP version with a fan patch if you want a real fair challenge. Play the DS version if you really want it to be hard. Stay away from the American FFII; they dumbed it down way too much. And the PS1 Chronicles version is a technical Trainwreck so avoid that version too.
Darn shame I missed out FF: 4 Heroes of Light on the DS. Same for FF III on the ds.
I did play Crystal Chronicles on the GC & Echoes of Time on DS. Then lastly I played FF Explorers on 3ds. Those 3 are my personal favs btw.
The few mainline FF games were on PS2, which I bought late in the years...
Please don't confuse people by calling FFIV's original release FFII (SNES) and calling FFVI's original release FFIII (SNES). I know that's what they were called in North America, but FFII and FFIII are here meaning completely different games in other releases and it's damn confusing when you change the names like that. Just use the modern corrected names for the games and maybe put SNES name in parentheses…
For the ones I’ve played:
X>VI>XII>IX>IV
@DanijoEX-the-Pierrot 4HoL is not hard to find at a decent price. It's a great game. As I said the OST is just sublime. It suffered from some milquetoast dungeons compared to something like DQ9, but that's mostly because they're sat next to areas like the incredible towns.
Crystal Chronicles (GC and Remaster) and Chocobo Racing GP terrible. I can’t believe they remastered CC, but then again they made another terrible cash grab with CRGP. CC was only good because it was Square Enix returning to Nintendo… then we all played it, realized it was at best a C-tier SE game on good hardware, and felt robbed.
@OrtadragoonX I like Tidus for his character growth. He goes from being whiney, dramatic, and an absolute noob of a fighter to being quite mature at the end of the game and a conversation with Lulu reveals he has become perhaps the best guardian there ever was. He goes from being a snot nosed kid, to be completely understanding his plight and willingly sacrifice himself for everyone else's sake.
I feel like games need more characters like him, cos most games don't show character growth in quite the beautiful way FF X does and in particular with Tidus.
@marandahir I agree with what you said. It took me a while to realize they were talking about FFIV and FFVI respectively. I hope this does not confuse the votes by the way (considering that both FFII and FFIII never get that many votes compared to FFIV and VI.
EDIT: It gets even more weird when they sorted them according their roman numerals.. so you have things like FFII (Switch) which is the Pixel Remaster of FFII, INMEDIATELY followed up by FFII (Snes) which would be FFIV... And then way down below you then get FFIV (Gameboy advance). Its very easy to get lost.
Why does this list only include remakes/remasters of some games, only originals of others, and a mix for a couple?
Every FF I love (IX and Tactics, pretty much) is completely out of nostalgia, once you start working there is no way I have time to grind and lose time with random encounters. But the story in those is great.
There are more modern RPGs that took over the importanc3 the series once had to me.
And geez, I can't stand FF VIII, by far the worst
@MindWanderer I'm pretty sure they only considerado the one released on Nintendo systems
@OrtadragoonX huh, I never had any problem with Tidus. The only character I didn’t care for was Kimari and the other Ronso
VI Advance
XII
X
are the main games in my consciousness. The other mainline games are quite even to me..the ones I've played
Of the spin offs I liked Revenant Wings particularly. The tactics games are good as well.
Strangely, the household liked Maxima.
You're wrong about Final Fantasy Adventure not being a true Final Fantasy game. Its full Japanese title is Seiken Densetsu: Final Fantasy Gaiden.
Man, this is a tall order. I love so many of the mainline titles, hard to chose over them. So at the bottom of my list would be 8 mainly because I didn't care for the cast of characters, none of them really stood out to me. 11 was amazing for the time but has aged poorly (and is due for a remake/offline version please Sqenix). 14 is good but not great IMO. My top three are 4, 6, and 9; no particular order
I'd have to say Final Fantasy VI, IX & Tactics are my favorites.
For me the best are: FFIV, FFVI, FFVII and Final Fantasy Tactics in no particular order, they are timeless classics!
I would rate any of them a 10/10 just for the epic storylines and beautiful soundtracks.
The Switch Pixel Remasters of II and III aren't in the list!
@LikelySatan Got my case back and home. There are only two Heroes of Light songs in the game! I just played through them a couple times and i dig them. The first was Heroes of Light which reminded a lot of Dragon Quest music mixed with FF and the other one was a battle tune called Fiend sumthin.. i forget.. anyways it was really funky and cool. Got some other stuff to do now , but i’m gonna check out the rest of the soundtrack on yt when i got a minute and am anticipating hearing the rest!
Thanks for the musical suggestion!
@Diogmites awesome. Glad you enjoyed it. That game had a really memorable look and OST.
...maybe I should pick it up again
@MrModerate that is because you are correct at liking FF things. Good work
Many are missing? Not even all the mainline games are listed.
VI will always be my favourite. VII for me was mind blowing at the time, but I was severely put off by the language. The language use put such a sour taste in my mouth that I kind of hated playing through it. And all because of the language.
Had they not used so much swearing, there is a small chance it would've overtaken VI as my favourite.
Though, that is a small chance. VI is very, VERY special to me.
I am giving My Life as a King a 6, even though I really like the game. But objectively, it's not great. I love the vibe, I enjoy it for what it is, and a 6 is a passing grade. Same goes for the OG Crystal Chronicles, which I am giving a well deserved 7. It is wonderful, I am madly in love with the game world and story, as well as the aesthetics, but objectively it is a pain in the butt to play. I gave the Switch Remaster a 4, because it removed THE feature that made it fun, and it did absolutely nothing to improve the controls either.
@Diogmites What's wrong with Zidane!?
??? where's 11 and 14? they are manline, in case anyone still needs to get over it
I've fallen out of love with the FF series (12 was the last one I really enjoyed) but the memories of FFX will carry me for a lifetime. It's one of my favorite games ever made.
@DaniPooo He tries to cover up his social inadequacies with bravado, which is common and harmless enough, but the way he’s written i find him incessantly annoying and i think you should usually have a reason to help someone.
@zet They're not on Nintendo hardware. That's why FF16 is also excluded, and why only the Pocket Edition of FF15 is here.
@Diogmites I see. I never found him that annoying, actually I found him quite refreshing coming from characters like Cloud and Squall who I thought have more severe social issues.
I can see how some people would get offended or annoyed with him though, especially with the "womanizing" aspect of the character.
Personally I find that stuff harmless
@DaniPooo i didn’t ask.
@Diogmites No you didn't have to Lucky you
