The UK charts have been rather grim for Nintendo so far in 2016, but this week has thankfully brought some positive news with two new releases making their mark on the top 40.
First of all let's look at Final Fantasy Explorers, the Square Enix spin-off that's exclusive to 3DS. Packed with fan service, it's managed to secure 11th place in the all-format UK chart (12th in single-format), which is a reasonable effort as it's the highest placed single format game to be found in the main results. It's also, naturally, number one in the 3DS-only chart.
The other big success of the past week was LEGO Marvel's Avengers, which secured top spot in the all-format results. The Nintendo versions were poorer performers, though, as PS4 / Xbox One / Xbox 360 / PS3 were all in the single-format top 10, while the Wii U version made its début in 20th place. The 3DS version only snuck into 39th place in the single format stakes, though it did outperform the Vita iteration that didn't make the top 40. In terms of the system-specific charts, this LEGO entry was top on Wii U and second behind Final Fantasy Explorers on 3DS.
A better week for Nintendo's systems and their games in the UK, with Final Fantasy Explorers clearly getting some love from franchise fans.

I just had a look at Marvel Avengers on the Eshop and there isn't even a video there for it,just 3 screenshots only.I only follow Nintendolife news for the most part and I know absolutely nothing about this game other than it being another LEGO game.Considering how rare 3rd party titles are on Wii U and this being a relatively big one, you'd think they'd have added a trailer for it on the Eshop.
Does something bad happen if the actual chart that's being talked about gets posted? I like lists...
Not played the new Lego yet, but opted for the Wii U version as prefer adding to that library. It seems like a run of the mill entry based on reviews. Wii U footage is on YouTube for those on the fence.
@GLA Chart-Track requests that it's not done, so I respect that wish.
@OorWullie I'm working on a review at the moment and hope to post it this week.
Anyone here playing Lego Marvel Avengers on the Wii U? I just want know if you get the Minimap on the Gamepad when you free roam?
@ThomasBW84 Cheers,I didn't mean for that sound like a criticism of NL in any way.I just find it baffling there isn't a trailer for it on the Eshop.I'm not sure who's responsible for that,if it's Nintendo or the publisher but how can they expect anyone to shell out £39.99 on the strength of 3 screenshots and a short description. It's like they know it'll sell poorly so why bother
I had trouble getting into FFE. It's very repetitive in many areas.
@OorWullie Just use YouTube for all your video needs. I agreed there should be a trailer on e-Shop for each game though.
@OorWullie I'd guess it's more that Lego games all have very similar mechanics, and the assumption is that most people know what to expect when they get them at this point. It's like Fifa, Where the presence or absence of a trailer will have no impact on the game being a success or not. I agree that they're always nice to see though. I'd recommend downloading the demo of Lego Marvel Super Heroes if you want an idea of how this plays. This is supposed to be very similar.
@scubydo best with friends or internet strangers tbh the level scales and better stuff.
Do they buy anything except Xbox and home consoles what is wrong with people.
@ThomasBW84 Don't forget to mention all the FREE DLC the Wii U version of Lego Avengers isn't getting when you write your review. I know there is some paid DLC in the eShop, you should probably mention that as well.

@ThomasBW84
So, if NintendoEverything do post the GfK Chart-Track charts are those taken from another source also named Chart-Track? Or do they just not respect Chart-Track's request other than you do? Just out of curiosity.
@Ambermoon Not really my business! I'll double check whether Chart-Track says now, but when I last looked they didn't want direct images taken and used. Maybe it's changed, but I'm not keen on posting screengrabs of them in any case. I just give a Nintendo update and link to Chart-Track for those that want to look at them in more detail. Other sites can do as they please
I see. Thx for your answer.
@scubydo yeah it's repetitive but really other than a Zelda title what game isn't repetitive. I'm still having a great time. We had a nice get together last night with the blue rogues. We played four hours with a full group. I'm frustrated trying to Find mats to make the cool looking armor. There are a lot of armor choices but the ones I want I can't find the mats for lol. Figures right?
Why do people keep buying these broken pieces of crap?!
