Warner Bros recently mentioned that it had a huge announcement to make regarding "two of the world's most popular entertainment brands". Whatever plans the company may have had, the guys over at the Xbox Store have thrown a spanner in the works by accidentally revealing the game in question - and it shouldn't be all that surprising to learn that it involves LEGO and Star Wars.
LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens is indeed the next block-building adventure from Warner Bros. and TT Games. The usual drop-in, drop-out gameplay is expected, and the game will apparently feature content that bridges the yawning gap between Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Both the Wii U and 3DS are getting the game, and the launch date is June 28th, 2016. Do you think the Force will be strong in this one? Watch the trailer below and let us know by posting a comment.

Day one buy if not fake...
Hmm. I love many of the lego games, but so used to buying games based on trilogies or more, that I'm not sure I'd be so excited for one based on just one film! Might wait for the inevitable trilogy release!
@Peach64
This. I'd rather go the whole hog and wait for a "The Complete Saga 2" featuring all nine Star Wars films once they all come out.
@jenkje The listing on the Xbox Store would indicate it's a long way from being fake
Hm...looks like the graphics are good...maybe too good...hm?
After the mess with Lego the Hobbit where the 3rd part never came out I'm sceptical.
Funny, I wasthinking about how awesome this would be while playing LEGO avengers just this weekend.... and here it is!
Excuse me, I will now go and think how awesome "F-Zero" would look like on Wii U and see if that also works.
@Shiryu I was just thinking how awesome it would be if Battalion Wars 3 happened... But then I remembered how awesome I was thinking Shiryu playing at a live Chiptune gig would also be..... :-/
@cfgk24 Every other minute I think "how awesome would be if I win €uromillion!". One day it will happen, as sure as the sun rises in the East and sets in the West. For now, reviewing SNES games will do.
Expected this to come out in 2018 with all the films but i'll buy it
I won't ever buy another Lego game unless it's named Lego City Undercover 2.
Still waiting for lsw 4 clone wars pt 2 ......
I like the part where the video cuts to a part of a YouTube page. Also the pop ups were funny.
They are releasing these broken games far too quickly now.
I have said it before. Suddenly, WB cannot do enough for Wii U owners. Season Passes and now this.
It seems to me that, project 'NX' looming on the horizon has a few Devs thinking, 'This could be a BIG hit'. So, they now give us stuff they have not given us before, in the hope most users will forget the days when they could not distance themselves from Wii U quick enough.
I could be wrong, it has been known....lol. Just an observation from a life long Nintendo user.
@Mega719 You'll have to wait until at least 2019, maybe even 2020 for all the films. This year is Rogues, Dec 2017 (delayed from May) is 8, 2018 is Han Solo, 2019 is 9, and 2020 is Boba Fett. (I may have Han and Boba backwards.)
Already played this in Lego Dimensions, don't need to play it again.
I hope this turns out to be great and isn't a cash grab. It can be hit and miss with these games. Some are brilliant, some are pants.
I WAS ASKING FOR THIS ALL MONTH omfg someone read my diary
Graphics actually look really rather nice, I'm interesterd.
There has been so many Lego games that I rather feeling Lego fatigue so unless it is something stella, I think I'll pass.
Yay...another Lego game...I can hardly contain my excitement...I never saw this coming...I can't wait to get a character that has the ability to unlock stuff...and then back track through the same tired level gameplay...hooray...
Just seen the trailer on the official Nintendo UK YouTube Channel. Looking forward to this.
I think it's funny that the Lego trailer is basically a copy of the actual movie trailer, including the scenes that didn't actually make the cut into the movie.
@RainbowGazelle Just the other day my son was playing LEGO Marvel on Wii U and complaining about how often the game freezes and you have to reset the console. Come to think of it this happens with about every LEGO game including Undercover. The game discs themselves look perfectly clean with zero scratches or fingerprints and still have this happen.
Will still probably pick this one up...
Looks really cute.
@Guybrush20X6 This. I'm still upset over it. It's not like they couldn't just release the third part as DLC or anything...
Having not bought a Lego game for years and been waiting for a new Lego Star Wars since hearing about the new movie I can't wait for this to release
Huh, would have expected them to wait till a few movies had been out, but I suppose being one of the highest grossing movies counts for Disney to wake up TT to do a game right away.
Ah well, back to daydreaming for a stand alone Lego Dr Who or Back to the Future game...
If they included stuff from the first three LEGO Star Wars games, I'd be on this.
@Nico07 Yeah, Lego Marvel, especially, freezes a lot. In general, the Lego games are getting more and more unstable. At the minute they're bringing out 3 a year. Traveller's Tales need longer to develop the things!
@Damo Pre-orders available on Amazon UK (along with gameplay details and a few screenshots):

@RainbowGazelle LEGO Marvel played fine for me on Wii U. Sure it froze a few times, but that was nothing compared to their older games.
Especially LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean on Wii. That game froze A LOT. I had to tread carefully and smash things one at a time on a few of the later levels. I've experienced that ear-piercing screech of a locked-up Wii far too many times thanks to TT. (Although I never learn and still buy their games because they are so fun!)
Looking good .
No doubt it'll have another pre order bonus minifigure not available to Wii U owners in the UK
@RainbowGazelle @Nico07 My bro is addicted to all the LEGO games (he's using Wii U) and they seem to freeze loads. He was playing LEGO Dimensions a couple of days ago and it was freezing like mad; every 30 minutes or so. There also seems to be a problem with the NFC figures too, since my brother and his friends have all had to get replacements by LEGO. When I played Undercover on release (was so hyped), I played the game non-stop till the mine level and that's when the game froze. Kinda sucks and is frustrating considering it stops you from wanting to play the game, especially if it was a hard level. Hopefully they can find a solution and make this game better because of it.
@Monkey_Balls The Wii U game has exactly the same price as the 360 and PS3 version. Hopefully the Nintendo NX will be categorised as a "next gen" console unlike the Wii U.
Han solo d- Uh, what?
I hope this game lives up to The Complete Saga...Or I'll just wait for The Complete Saga 2.
@seb5049 I'm still yet to complain about the Complete Saga not actually being the Complete Saga to TT Games and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
Lego star wars games were my favourite ones! I knew this game would be happening it's a cash grab! And the fact it's set between 6 and 7 is interesting the battle of Jakku perhaps? Although judging by the trailer it seems we will be getting the first film. Now on the topic of dlc I think it'll either get rogue one as dlc or the new films will get their own game dlc will happen unless a new game is created unlike the hobbit (which was really disappointing) As star wars is far more popular and the kids will be far more likely to recognise and want the star wars game rather than the hobbit!
Man lego games are worse than sports games at this point.
@Ryu_Niiyama Unless we're talking about ESPN Sports Connection...
I used to really like the lego games, but after Lego City, they kinda just went downhill from there. I played lego Marvel and it just didn't feel good, then there was the delay of lego Hobbit on the Wii U and getting screwed on lego Batman dlc (again, might I add, still a little salty from Arkham Origins) and I just said **** it! Though if these Star Wars games play like the originals, I might come back.
PS EXCLUSIVE CONTENT
The only two Lego games I ever had were Star Wars: The Complete Saga and Indiana Jones. I remember really enjoying The Complete Saga, so I think I'll actually pick this up. I'll just be waiting for it to drop down in price.
Didn't like the movie but may try the game.
Have played Lego Clone Wars which was EPIC!
So I hope this doesn't disappoint.
i love star wars episode 7 movie(despite being the first star wars movie i ever watch) and i will love to play this game when it's release!
